Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything runs locally in your browser tab.

What happens to VTT styling and positioning?

SRT doesn't support cue settings like position:50% or voice tags, so those are removed. Text formatting tags that SRT understands (<i>, <b>, <u>) are kept.

Does it handle NOTE and STYLE blocks?

Yes — comments, style blocks, and cue identifiers are skipped safely.
